PK-12th Grade Selecting Yearbook Photos

3 min read Updated August 2026

Your student's yearbook photo is a memory that will last for years to come. Once your online gallery is available, you'll have the opportunity to choose the portrait you'd like submitted to your school for the yearbook.

Taking just a few minutes to review your gallery ensures the image you love is the one that appears in the yearbook.

When Your Gallery Becomes Available

As soon as your gallery is online, we recommend logging in and making your yearbook portrait selection. For Underclassmen photos, this is typically within a week of photoday. For seniors, we release all senior galleries on Sept 1st.

Please keep in mind that Seniors often have an earlier deadline (Sept 30th) at most schools.

Most schools provide approximately a two-week selection window, although deadlines vary by school.

Because yearbook production schedules are often very tight, we encourage families to make their selection as early as possible rather than waiting until the final day.

If Your Student Attended Retake Day

If your student was photographed during retakes, we recommend waiting until the retake images have been added to your gallery before making your final selection.

Once those images are available, you'll be able to compare both the original portrait and the retake portrait side by side.

The system does not automatically choose the retake image.

Instead, you decide which portrait you'd like submitted to the yearbook. Whether you prefer the original session or the retake, the choice is entirely yours.

Watch Your School's Deadline

Each school establishes its own deadline for yearbook portrait submissions.

If you're unsure when selections are due, check with your school or yearbook advisor.

Unfortunately, once the school's submission deadline has passed, changes may no longer be possible because the yearbook is already moving into production.

Need Help?

If you have questions about accessing your gallery or making your yearbook selection, we're happy to help.

Just be sure to contact us before your school's selection deadline so we have time to assist you if needed.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: When should I select my yearbook portrait?

A: As soon as your gallery becomes available. Making your selection early helps ensure you don't accidentally miss your school's deadline.

Q: If my student had retakes, will the new photo automatically replace the original?

A: No. Both sessions will appear in your gallery, and you'll choose which portrait should be submitted for the yearbook.

Q: What happens if I don't make a selection?

A: Selection policies vary by school. In many cases, a default image may be submitted on your behalf before the school's deadline. If you're unsure how your school handles this, please contact your yearbook advisor.

Q: Can I change my selection after the deadline?

A: Once your school's submission deadline has passed, changes usually cannot be made because yearbook production has already begun.

PARENT TIP

Don't wait until the last day to make your selection. Choosing your favorite portrait early gives you time to review your options, ask questions if needed, and avoid missing your school's deadline.
