Which Senior Session Should I Choose?

4 min read Updated August 2026

Choosing the Right Senior Session

We know selecting a senior session can feel a little overwhelming. The good news is that every session includes the yearbook images your school requires. The biggest difference is how many portraits you want, how you plan to purchase them, and whether you want casual portraits.

Here's a simple guide to help you decide.

Senior Digital All Access

Best For: Families who want every image without attending an ordering appointment.

This is our simplest and most convenient option. You'll pay for your session up front and receive every digital image from your senior session after editing.

This option includes:

  • Drape or tuxedo portraits
  • Cap and gown portraits
  • Indoor casual portraits (when available)
  • All edited digital images
  • No ordering appointment required

Please Note

  • Retakes are not available with this option.
  • Casual portraits are not offered during July 27–August 12.

Choose this session if:

  • You love digital images.
  • You don't want to schedule a sales appointment.
  • You prefer an all-inclusive option.

Yearbook Session Only

Best For: Families who only need the required yearbook portrait or prefer ordering online later.

Reserve your appointment with the sitting fee, come in for your yearbook portraits, and later receive an online gallery where you can purchase only what you'd like.

This session includes:

  • Drape or tuxedo portraits
  • Cap and gown portraits
  • No casual portraits
  • Online ordering beginning September 1

Choose this session if:

  • You're mainly interested in the yearbook photo.
  • You'd rather order online at your own pace.
  • You don't need casual portraits.

Full Senior Session with Ordering Appointment

Best For: Families wanting the complete senior portrait experience.

This is our most popular option because it gives seniors the greatest variety of images while allowing families to view portraits immediately after the session with one of our portrait consultants.

This session includes:

  • Drape or tuxedo portraits
  • Cap and gown portraits
  • One indoor casual outfit
  • Guided ordering appointment immediately following the session

A parent or guardian should attend the ordering appointment so final portrait selections and purchases can be made together.

Please Note

Indoor casual portraits are not available July 27–August 12.

Choose this session if:

  • You want the largest variety of portraits.
  • You're planning to purchase wall portraits, albums, gifts, or graduation announcements.
  • You appreciate professional guidance when selecting your favorite images.

Yearbook Session with Ordering Appointment

Best For: Families who don't want casual portraits but would still like personal assistance choosing images.

This session includes only the traditional senior portraits but allows you to stay afterward for a guided ordering appointment.

Included:

  • Drape or tuxedo portraits
  • Cap and gown portraits
  • Guided ordering appointment
  • No casual portraits

Choose this session if:

  • You don't need casual images.
  • You'd like help selecting portraits and products.
  • You prefer making decisions with a portrait consultant.

PHOTOGRAPHER TIP

The most meaningful senior portraits usually come from clothing that reflects the student's personality. Solid colors, timeless styles, and simple accessories tend to photograph beautifully and won't look dated years from now.
